Young people in today’s schools will be the next generation of leaders in the workplace, in our communities and in their families. Development of leadership contributes greatly to the positive development of young people and their communities. Helping young people to develop leadership skills improves their ability to solve community problems and enhances their citizen participation.

We believe it’s important for our students to experience leadership opportunities during their schooling, to learn the art of building relationships within teams, defining identities and achieving tasks effectively. It also provides an opportunity to learn to identify and display effective communication and interpersonal skills.

The OCNLR Awards in Developing Leadership Skills are aimed at developing the leadership skills of learners, enriching their employability skills and personal growth. The Awards is delivered as part of an enrichment programme and are available at Level 1 and Level 2 to make the topic accessible to the broad range of abilities and needs.
